Security Management of South Carolina has named three outstanding officers as Employees Of The Year for 2009.

What a fortunate company we are to have three employees who showed such outstanding initiative that each is named an Employee Of The Year.

Read on to see why each is so deserving of this honor:

Mr. Greg Parks serves as staff medic for SMSC. Fortunately, he was on the scene when a contract employee of Tampa Armature Works was working at our Weyerhaeuser facility in Port Wentworth, Georgia. When the employee fell while taking bearing measurements at the Wet End Vacuum Pumps, Greg took control along with another employee and assisted in resuscitating and sustaining the man's life.

Cpt. Cindy Polson is the Security Site Supervisor/Medic at Dom Tar in Bennettsville, S.C. In July, Mr. Bill Locklear, tech for an on-site contractor working at the mill, experienced difficulties that eventually led to a heart catheterization and stint implantation. When Mr. Locklear lost consciousness at work after feeling hot and suffering neck pains and eventually stopped breathing, Cpt. Polson remained calm, opened his airway, and began administering first aid until EMS could arrive. Thanks to Cindy, her knowledge and quick actions made it possible for him to be back on the job today.

Cpt. Charles Smith is the Site Supervisor of Marlboro Park Hospital. Charles schedules 22 officers to cover Security Patrol, Maintenance/Security, and Patient Watch. He and his loyal team at Marlboro Park have successfully completed CPI certification. Charles serves as an exemplary role model, and every officer under his supervision continues to report for duty on time and with a professional attitude and appearance. He sets high standards, and his team strives to excel.

Each of these officers is a role model, exemplifying the best of the best for security officers. They have each exhibited professionalism above and beyond the norm, while ensuring the safety of other people and property.

The three officers have received the company's "Committed To Service" recognition pin, a $500 service bonus, and a framed letter of appreciation.
